What's There To Do In Palm Beach County?

5 Local Events To Check Out This Week in PBC

If you’re new here, welcome ! This is the first edition of the Palm Beach County Courier - bringing you the latest news, events, and general goings on in Palm Beach County !

I will be writing these bi-weekly - if you enjoy, follow along and tell your friends about it.

Without further ado:

MOVIE NIGHT ON CLEMATIS

If you’re looking for something to do Thursday night (May 9th), the movie Pitch Perfect will be screened downtown at the end of Clematis street. Enjoy the lawn, the atmosphere, and maybe bring the lady (or man) along with !

They always have good stuff going on down at the end of the street, centrally located for a nice weeknight plan to kick the weekend off a little early.

Clematis Green Space (where the movie’s gonna be at !)

ROLLING STONES TRIBUTE CONCERT

May 17th at the Abacoa Amphitheater looks like there will be a tribute to one of the all time great bands (I am biased) at a nice spot in Abacoa. This is the spot right across from Roger Dean stadium.

Had the chance to see the stones live a few years ago - if these guys are anything like the original it should be a great night ! You are allowed to boo if they don’t play Gimme Shelter !!

In all seriousness, it’s free entry, first come first serve, just show up and have a good time if you’re an appreciator of some good ‘ol classic rock.

PROHIBITION DINNER & DRINKS TOUR

May 22nd (aka Memorial Day weekend) if you’re looking for a nice date idea or have family/friends visiting you and think they’d dig this, check this out !

Presumably you get to roll around downtown WPB boozing but also getting the lowdown on prohibition era history around these parts, which overall sounds like a fun time if you’re into that kind of stuff.

This one does need to be reserved so check out this link if you are interested and have a blast !

They also do this every Thursday so don’t worry if you can’t make it the 22nd !

THE UTTERANCE OPEN MIC IN LAKE WORTH

Saturday May 10th (and apparently the second Saturday of every month) check out this open mic event at Common Grounds in Lake Worth - 7pm sign ups, 7:30 performance and goes til 10.

If you’ve wanted the opportunity to hop on an open mic for some good clean fun (they emphasized clean in the posting) check it aht ! No cover ! Donation opportunity ! Local talent !

Sounds like you can play music, do a standup routine, really whatever you’re feeling, step on out there and make it count. Simple as !

GARDENS GREEN MARKET

The days of the WPB green market may be over til October, but there is still PLENTY of opportunity to check out a nice farmers market …. particularly every Sunday from 8am-1pm at the City Hall Municipal Campus off Military Trail.

All the green markets around here are awesome - fresh produce, meats, good coffee, good meals, etc. -

and if you’re looking for your fix after most of them shut down end of April, look no further as this one is STILL GOING STRONG BABY !!!!!!!!!!!!

Gardens Green Market

This is a fairly simple first edition of the newsletter, but I hope you found something cool to do out of it ! I’ll be releasing these twice a week as of right now …..

If you learned something new or had a good time at one of these events, be sure to subscribe to the newsletter or send it to a friend !
